Get ya’self together and drive that funky soul!

The Austin-based funk, soul and hiphop group Afrofreque joins the jazzy dynamic rock duo Fifth Nation to welcome New Orleans funk brass band Big Sam’s Funky Nation to Austin on December 5, 2009 at Momo’s.

Presiding over his Funky Nation is Big Sam, formerly the trombonist for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The band has been named the 2009 Big Easy Music Award for Best Funk Band, 2009 La. The show kicks off at 8:30 with Fifth Nation taking the stage. Momo’s is located at 618 W. 6th St. in downtown Austin. Cover is $10 for those 21 and up.
