Sangre del Sol New Years Eve w/ Ararat

Sangre del Sol will be performing during the Ararat Rising ~ New Year’s Eve Celebration on 12/31/07 from 8pm-2am at Mercury Hall. Admission is $50 per person. Tickets are available through www.AusTix.com (512-474-TIXS) This is a BYOB event.
$15 admission after 10:30pm for the fire show and dance party portion of the event.

Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes the Ararat Family invites you to say goodbye to hardships of 2007 and hello to a new year of possibilities and hope with the traditional “Ararat Experience”. Please join us for a night to remember at the lovely Mercury Hall!
Doors open at 8pm with a 4 course Ararat “Sizzling” Buffet & an Organic Coffee Bar (provided by Hot Mama’s), accompanied by the musical stylings of The Righteous Tidings. Complimentary airbrush body painting and intuitive tarot readings available from 8-11pm.
9:30pm – performances from Austin’s Premier Drag King Troupe, Kings N Things 10:00pm – The Ararat Dancers take the stage featuring Michelle’s Pinup Girl Belly Dance, Zahira with Hands of Fatima, Marysol, Rania, Yamina, & Sahhira the gypsy witch (Typsy Gypsys).
10:45pm – The 2007 Critics Pick Winner ~ Sangre del Sol ~ kicks off an hour of mystic fire dances & flame throwing.
11:45pm – No countdown would be complete without a Pomegranate Champagne Toast, So grab your glass and raise it high as our Masters of Ceremonies, Woody B. Goode, and Austin’s 2007 Drag King Of The Year, Trevor N. Deavor, count us down and we ring in the new year with The Super Sonic Soul Jams Of DJ.MaryMac & Dr.Bullet.
The Thulsa Doom Live at The Whisky Bar Dec 27th

The Thulsa Doom will be weaving their unique jam of electro-acoustic darkness with The Snake Trap, Butcher Bear, and DJ Kon Karne at The Whisky Bar on Thursday, December 27, 2007. Visit www.thethulsadoom.com for a sneak listen to tracks from the groups upcoming album (to be released in Q1 – 2008).
As always, there is no cover at the Whisky Bar. Only slick jams, great drinks, and a laid back atmosphere. The Whiskey Bar is located at 303 W. 5th St. in Austin, TX.

Afrofreque CD Release Session II at Sherlocks

After performing for a sold-out crowd during the original launch of the groups debut CD release, Afrofreque will be holding a second event in North Austin on December 20th, 2007.
Reggae soulsters, electronica lovers, and conscious hip-hop connoisseurs rejoice…again! The long-awaited debut release from Austin’s favorite groove junkies, Afrofreque, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 from 9pm to 12am at Sherlock’s in Austin, TX. Visit the band’s site to sneak listen to the track Illumination for a sample of the sounds on the Fresh Soul Frequencies album.
Fresh Soul Frequencies, available now at DJ DOJO, features ten original tracks written collectively by band members Tigre Liu, Michael Hale, DJ Resinthol,

Performing more than 150+ shows a year with artists like Bassnectar, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Spearhead, The Glitch Mob, Zilla, and String Cheese Incident along the West Coast festival circuit, MC Souleye drizzles a new flavor of freestyle flow over a cross pollination of drum & bass, hip hop, breaks, blue grass, and funk. Souleye will be in Austin on Friday, December 14th to throw down with the San Fran-based four-piece band BLVD at Club 115 at 11:45pm.
