Johnny Hootrock & the Spoiled Royals – Red Eye Fly

May 27, 2008

5-29-08redeyefly.jpgEvery once in a while , you got to go back to the roots of rock n roll, just to cleanse the pallet and find an excuse to drink way too much Lonestar and get a little bit too rowdy for your own good. Not to mention, Thursday the 29th is the night to catch Keister front-man Charlie Guidry away from his electronic knob-twiddling ways, sporting a mean hair style and crafting crooked finger bass plucks for one of Austin’s up-and-coming rock ensembles. Weird? We don’t think so. Music is music, and Spoiled Royals hits a good chord on the Austin scene.

Know for their punk-a-billy minimalism, bass and electric guitar color combinations, and fresh breath for the even the most jaded scenester, the Spoiled Royals always bring a good time on the down beat. Grab a leash and take your chicken for a walk over to the Red Eye Fly on May 29th as the band sets the stage for Johnny Hootrock , Graveyard BBQ, and Burning Love Band.

Spoiled Royals will be kicking off their dirty south shenanagans at 8:00pm. Red Eye Fly is located in Austin’s Red River district at 715 Red River.

Fireworks, a raging crowd, VIP seating, and wicked visuals made the Bassnectar show at Antone’s on March 29th, 2008 an extremely savage adventure in sound. DJ Manny, Big Face, and MC Tigre Liu warmed up the crowd and Bassnectar finished it off with a 2 1/2-hour set that had the hall bouncing with womtageous infection.
