Premiering on May 12, 2010, “The Legends of Sport with Tim Brown” is a new one-hour sports talk show hosted by NFL legend and former Notre Dame Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Brown. Brown spent seventeen years with the Los Angeles/ Oakland Raiders during which he established himself as one of the NFL’s most prolific wide receivers. Dallas Cowboy, Everson Walls and Tom Landry’s GM, Gil Brandt, will speak with Brown on the show’s debut broadcast. “I love this type of show”, says Brown who is also a veteran broadcaster. “This is the type of show that I prefer to do rather than bantering with callers. It also gives me a chance to voice my opinions as well as get my subjects to open up and feel free to say what is on their mind.”

Thomas Bailey, former talk show host and President of Game On Sports Production of Dallas, is producing the show. Past and present students from MediaTech Institute are handling all of the production work and the broadcasts are all recorded at MediaTech’s expansive facilities in Las Colinas. Students and graduates of the MediaTech Institute Recording Arts program are producing the show in two 26-week segments. Producer Bailey says this of his youthful production team; “I have been involved in sports broadcasting and producing radio shows for 30 years. I have to say I have been very impressed in working with the MediaTech crew who are extremely professional, have a good sense of direction, and they really know what they are doing,” states Bailey.

“We are very excited to add Tim Brown to our programming lineup. His name alone will attract big name guests and that’s putting it mildly. His knowledge and reputation as a straight up guy is something many people in the sports world respect and we are looking forward to a long relationship,” - Darren Peck, President of Sports Byline USA.

The show will air twice each Saturday on the Sport Byline USA Radio Network, one of the most popular networks in the country. The show will reach over two million listeners per week on nearly 200 radio stations and can be heard internationally on American Forces Network, iTunes, US and World Airways and Sirius XM radio.

Hay, Hay, Make a Wish and Turn Away

Mediatech Austin alumni Adam Beam releases 2nd full-length CD,  “Hay, Hay,Make a Wish and Turn Away,” as percussionist in the band Norman.

From the Gazette Times:

Knowing Norman is a bit like knowing what WinCo and Reser Stadium used to be called.Chances are you’re a local, and,if you love this place,or have loved in this place, you can’t help but be drawn into the band’s earnest lyrical wanderings down local streets and valley back roads.

The band just finished its second full-length album,”Hay, Hay,Make a Wish and Turn Away,”which follows up on the 2007 self-titled debut album “Norman”and 2008 EP “You Were the Sky.”

Norman is led by Eric Nordby, who grew up in Corvallis and founded the group circa 2005 with fellow Crescent Valley High School graduate Sesh Kanury.

Over the years, the lineup of Norman has evolved with Kanury moving on to become a brewer in Durango,Colo.,but Nordby,a multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist, has always remained at the center of the group and the man behind the lyrics.

Since the start, the group has also retained William “Billy” Johnson (guitars) and Brian Mosher, who plays everything from keyboards to banjos, melodicas and the lap steel guitar. The newest members are Wil Vaughn (bass) and Adam Beam (percussion)…

… The idea for the CD was born when the group got together in December of 2008 to record a few tracks before Beam headed off for a year to study sound recording at the MediaTech Institute of Austin,Texas.
