FCC Declares 700 MHz Off-Limits

According to an article from Stage Directions:

“On Friday, Jan. 15, the Federal Communications Commission adopted an Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking prohibiting the further operation, distribution and sale of devices that operate in the 700 MHz frequency band. This area of frequencies, previously used by television channels in the “UHF” band of transmission, had been in ad hoc use by wireless microphones and other wireless data transmission devices (DMX, et al). The FCC order makes it clear that these unlicensed devices cannot continue to operate in this band as they may cause harmful interference to public safety entities and next generation consumers devices that will be utilizing the 700 MHz frequency. Current users of equipment that use the 700 MHz frequency have until June 12, 2010, one year from the DTV transition, to change to complying equipment.”

Mediatech Austin’s Joe Brindley Drops New EP “Hades’ Home”

2797729424-1Performing as Allum Creek, Mediatech Austin’s Joe Brindley announces the launch of his latest EP release Hades’ Home.

From Brindley:

“Hade’s Home” is a collection of five songs that I don’t know how I reasoned they fit together, some of them are based on truth, some not, some are about people I know, and others are completely fictional or started one way and took a turn for the other. There isn’t a true overall theme, there are similarities in some of the stories and topics. It is just a collection of songs I wanted to put together so that I could really start moving in some direction with this part of my life.

The 5-track EP is available in 320mp3 and FLAC format through Allum Creek’s bandcamp page at http://allumcreek.bandcamp.com, or just click here, support independent music, and name your price.
